چکیده

We calculate the short–range contributions C and C to the angular intensity correlation function for the scattering of s-polarized light from a one-dimensional random interface between two dielectric media. The calculations are carried out on the basis of a new approach that separates out explicitly the contributions C and C to the angular intensity correlation function. The contribution C displays peaks associated with the memory effect and the reciprocal memory effect. In the case of a dielectric–dielectric interface, which does not support surface electromagnetic surface waves, these peaks arise from the coherent interference of multiply-scattered lateral waves supported by the interface. The contribution C is a structureless function of its arguments.

Numerical studies of the scattering of light from a two-dimensional randomly rough interface between two dielectric media

The scattering of polarized light incident from one dielectric medium on its two-dimensional randomly rough interface with a second dielectric medium is studied. A reduced Rayleigh equation for the scattering amplitudes is derived for the case where por s-polarized light is incident on this interface, with no assumptions being made regarding the dielectric functions of the media. Rigorous, pure...

Numerical solutions of the Rayleigh equations for the scattering of light from a two-dimensional randomly rough perfectly conducting surface.

We present rigorous, nonperturbative, purely numerical solutions of the Rayleigh equations for the scattering of p- and s-polarized light from a two-dimensional randomly rough perfectly conducting surface. The solutions are used to calculate the reflectivity of the surface, the mean differential reflection coefficients, and the full angular distribution of the intensity of the scattered field. ...

Light scattering from a random rough interface with total internal reflection

The scattering of linearly polarized electromagnetic waves incident from a dielectric from a rough surface separating the dielectric from a vacuum is studied by using the extinction theorem. The angular distributions of the ensemble average of intensity of the reflected and transmitted fields are calculated numerically for several values of the angle of incidence, the surface statistical parame...

It is based on a surface integral technique, and consists of determining the unknown electric surface current densities from which the electromagnetic field everywhere can be determined. The method is...

Speckle statistics of electromagnetic waves scattered from perfectly conducting random rough surfaces

By means of the extinction-theorem method, previously reported by J. M. Soto-Crespo and M. Nieto-Vesperinas [J. Opt. Soc. Am. In particular, ...
